Anne Hathaway Is Done Trying to Please
The Oscar-winning actress talks about her new movie, "The Idea of You," and how she has finally found the confidence to be herself.
In "The Idea of You," Hathaway plays Sophie, a divorced mother of two who falls in love with Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), a much younger pop star. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Robinne Lee.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Hathaway said that she was drawn to the role of Sophie because she could relate to her journey of self-discovery. "I think Sophie is a lot like me," she said. "She's a woman who is trying to figure out who she is and what she wants. She's not perfect, but she's always trying to do the right thing. I think that's something that we can all relate to."
Hathaway also said that she has finally found the confidence to be herself, both on and off screen. "I'm not perfect, but I'm finally comfortable in my own skin," she said. "I'm not trying to be someone I'm not. I'm just trying to be the best version of myself. And I think that's a message that we all need to hear."
