Kevin Norwood Bacon, born July 8, 1958, is an American actor and musician. He is best known for his leading man and character roles in films such as Apollo 13, JFK, and Footloose.

Biography

Kevin Norwood Bacon was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Ruth Hilda Holmes, an elementary school teacher, and Edmund Norwood Bacon, a city planner. He has two brothers and a sister.

Bacon attended the Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City and began his career in theater. He made his film debut in National Lampoon's Animal House (1978) and went on to star in a number of popular films, including Footloose (1984) and JFK (1991).

Bacon is married to actress Kyra Sedgwick and they have two children.
