American Astronauts Stuck on Space Station Due to Vehicle Issues

Update: Agency Prepares for Crew Return

Astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore are experiencing extended stay on the International Space Station due to vehicle issues. Originally planned to return in April 2024, their mission has stretched into two months.

Back to Earth Soon

NASA chief astronaut Joe Acaba said the astronauts prepared for the mission knowing the potential risks.

Their return is set for Aug. 15, 2024, when SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft arrives to bring them home.

Exploring in Space

NASA astronaut Victor Glover said despite the delay, the astronauts are comfortable and have a spacious living area.

“The space station is actually now a seven-bedroom three-bathroom ensuite,” Glover said.

The astronauts have been conducting experiments and spacewalks, keeping up with their research and exploration.
