Malware Targeting macOS Users: Cthulhu Stealer
What is Cthulhu Stealer?
Cthulhu Stealer is a newly discovered malware that has been observed targeting macOS users. It is distributed as an Apple disk image (DMG) file and contains two binaries, one for each CPU architecture. How Does Cthulhu Stealer Work?
Cthulhu Stealer is typically distributed through phishing emails or malicious websites. Once the DMG file is downloaded and opened, the malware will install itself on the victim's computer. Once installed, the malware will start to collect information from the infected device, including:
