Texas Am Loses Cornerback Tyreek Chappell For Season To Injury

Texas A&M loses cornerback Tyreek Chappell for the season to injury

Chappell suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during the Aggies' scrimmage on Saturday.

Texas A&M will be without one of its top defensive players for the entire 2023 season. Cornerback Tyreek Chappell suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during the Aggies' scrimmage on Saturday.

Chappell is a redshirt sophomore who started all 12 games for Texas A&M last season.

He was one of the team's top playmakers, recording 36 tackles, three interceptions, and nine pass breakups. Chappell was expected to be one of the leaders of the Aggies' defense this season.

His injury is a big blow to Texas A&M's secondary.

The Aggies were already thin at cornerback, and now they will be without their best player at the position. Texas A&M will have to find a replacement for Chappell, and it will be a tough task to fill his void.

Chappell's injury is the latest in a string of bad news for Texas A&M.

The Aggies have also lost quarterback Max Johnson and running back Devon Achane to injuries this preseason. Texas A&M is now facing an uphill battle to compete for an SEC championship this season.
